The San Diego Doula Training cohort is a branch of the Birth Coach Method, led by Neri Life Choma, our lead trainer, and the wonderful San Diego doula mentor, Kani Powel.
Kani is a highly respected doula among San Diego parents and birth support professionals. Known as a beacon of support and wisdom, she has guided hundreds of families through the transformative journey of birth, building a trusted reputation within the birth community. 
Kani has been widely celebrated for her transformative impact and for helping her peers grow. Her approach blends intelligence, empathy, and a deep commitment to growth. Her calming and uplifting presence will create a safe and reassuring environment for her doula mentees, who, we know, will be privileged to build on her legacy and share it with others.
Now enrolling for the Spring cohort, starting on March 22, 2025!
San Diego Doula Training consists of the following:
- 15 online classes of the Birth Coach Method’s online program.
- 18 virtual workshop contact hours led twice a year using the Zoom platform
- 8 hours of hands-on practice conducted in person in two 4-hour workshops
- 30 practical hours supporting birthing patients
